Castaway Island Preserve
Officially opened on June 5, 2004, Castaway Island Preserve proudly sits on 309 acres along the Intracoastal Waterway and adjacent to residential developments. From the canoe launch and wildlife observation deck you may see a variety of waterfowl, fiddler crabs, or one of the many other wild inhabitants. Follow the animal tracks along the paved nature trail to learn more about the critters that share this area with us. Features: Community/Education center, nature trails, elevated wildlife observation platform, butterfly garden, picnic tables, boardwalk, canoe/kayak launch to the Intracoastal Waterway, and informational signs about plants and animals. Handicap Accessible. Location: Castaway Island Preserve is located on San Pablo Road between Beach Boulevard and Atlantic Boulevard. The park entrance is well marked with signs and a security gate. |
