| Urge Crist to support Florida Forever |

The Florida Forever Program - the land conservation program for the State of Florida, is set to expire in 2010. Please join us in encouraging Governor Crist to renew the program and increase the amount of funding it receives. This State has saved some amazing natural areas because of this wonderful program, but it is set to expire, and its current funding levels have not increased along with property values. The Florida Forever program should not only not be allowed to expire, but its funding levels should be increased. Although the budget may be tight, this program should be protected because it is an egalitarian way to protect Florida's amazing natural resources. Through this program we can protect habitat, recreation areas, endangered species, aquifer recharge areas, wetlands, carbon sinks, tourist attractions, etc. We save ourselves money and natural capital even as we spend money to purchase these lands. I encourage you to do everything in your power to renew and increase the Florida Forever Program. What we protect now will be your legacy into the future. Thank you, |
