Warren K. Anderson Jr.
Board Member

Warren, a native of Jacksonville, is a longtime Northeast Florida attorney and environmental advocate. Following his graduation from Wake Forest University, he attended the University of Florida College of Law. Thereafter, Warren served as a Prosecutor at the State Attorney’s Office under Ed Austin for five years. Warren then went into private practice and has been practicing civil litigation at his firm, Anderson, Howell & Ravis P.A., in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, since 1987. Warren is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which is based on evaluations from other attorneys and is the highest rating possible.

Warren’s environmental advocacy background includes:

Most recently, Warren was awarded Florida Wildlife Federation's Land Conservationist of the Year for 2009.  Warren regularly advises and represents environmental organizations such as the Sierra Club and the St. Johns Riverkeeper as well as individual citizens. An avid outdoorsman, Warren enjoys running and kayaking throughout our region.


Patricia Sher
Board Member

Patricia Sher has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida and a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Florida . She received her Masters of Science in Political Science/Public Administration and Law degree from the University of Florida .

Patt has worked for Holland and Knight, Managed Health Care Services, Gulf Group Services, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida and in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. She is very active in community service including as a member of the Mayor's Election Advisory Panel, Vice-Chair of the Duval County Democratic Executive Committee, and as a Board Member of the League of Women Voters.


Ken Wright
Board Member

Ken graduated from the Florida State University College of Law in 1991 where he was on the Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Ken is a Florida Bar Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer, and practices with the Jacksonville law firm of Bledsoe, Jacobson, Schmidt, Wright, Lang & Wilkinson. Prior to law school, Ken obtained an accounting degree from the University of South Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant.

After law school, Ken served two years as an associate attorney for the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund, where he represented numerous citizens groups and environmental organizations in legal proceedings designed to protect Florida 's environment from pollution, depletion and destruction. Since coming to Jacksonville in 1994, Ken has continued to actively advocate on behalf of the environment in federal and state courts. Ken also served as the Legal Chair of the Sierra Club, Northeast Chapter from 1995-2001.

Ken and his family enjoy boating fishing, hiking, and camping. Ken grew up in South Florida before it was paved over. He is determinedly hopeful that education, reason and activism can protect more of the natural environment in North Florida .


Michael Saylor

Board Member

Michael Saylor is a thirty year resident of Jacksonville. Having grown up in the Midwest “Steel Belt”, he graduated in 1972 from Ball State University with degrees in Political Science and Regional and Urban Planning.

Upon his move to Florida Mike worked as a Land Use Planner for Manatee County, Assistant City Planner in Pensacola, and as a planning consultant throughout the State of Florida. His most recent post was as Director of Planning for the City of Jacksonville, after spending ten years as CEO of one of Jacksonville’s largest planning and engineering firms.

Mike’s passion for the land and the great outdoors is reflected in both his work and his personal life. He has been professionally involved in community design and redevelopment projects from Key West to Jacksonville Beach to Perdido Key and most points in-between. He is an avid hunter and fisherman and was a founding member of The Great Outdoors Conservancy and Sportsmens’ National Land Trust.
Mike is also a strong advocate of volunteerism as a means of building better communities.

He has served on the following local boards and organizations:

Mike and his wife Martha, along with their two Labrador Retrievers and six “barn cats” live on Black Hammock Island, where they raise and train Irish Sport Horses.


Andrew D. Miller

Executive Director/Legal Counsel

Andrew grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois as the youngest of four children. In the hopes of one day attending law school, he received his Bachelor degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois. While an undergrad he studied at the University of New South Wales in Australia, where he discovered his passion for the environment. He then went on to study Environmental and International Law at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law, graduating cum laude with certificates in Environmental and Land Use Law, Pro Bono work, and Community Service.

Since Junior High Andrew has been a member of Amnesty International and Students for a Free Tibet, and in the last few years has also joined Surfrider Foundation. He enjoys surfing, music, traveling, spending time with his friends and family, and laying in his hammock in the ocean breeze.
